I had my first taste of what Persona Mesa can offer in October 2018, while they were still at their old location on JA Clarin. Since then, I have been itching to come back. I always recall how beautifully my batchoy was served, as though it had been prepared with great care.
Coming back was always put on-hold. Until this year.
I always feel a sense of excitement when it rains, and the weather turns chilly. It brings to mind so many things—curling up in bed under a cozy blanket, feeling lazy, and eagerly anticipating a warm bowl of soup.
I’ve been dreaming of trying Laksa since last year, but I thought it would be impossible to find with the limited food options in Bohol. So, I was pleasantly surprised to discover it at Persona Mesa during my second visit. If you enjoy a spicy soup, be sure to ask the staff for their spiciest option. The medium spice level didn’t quite do it for me, though! I could have asked for the spiciest had I wanted the ‘anghang na may kagat’, for that moment .
On top of that, they also serve sticky rice with mango, a popular Thai snack. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to try this when I visited Thailand years ago. Just a heads up— it comes with sesame seeds, so be cautious if you have a sesame allergy.
Overall, the food and atmosphere at Persona Mesa are absolutely delightful. It is one of the places I can highly recommend for people who wants good food and ambiance.
They encourage and appreciate if you text for a reservation in advance.
